Radio has been one of my passions for as long as I can remember. I was just a child when my dad "woke up" my mornings with a sonorous chapter of my favorite cartoons: The Adventures of Elpidio Valdés (fictional character created by Juan Padrón and that tells the story of the struggles for the independence of Cuba). Imagining the faces of each actor or actress by their voice planted in me the seed of curiosity.
Then would come endless nights dancing the night away with musical programs or the infallible sports talk shows, which caused heated 'discussions'. Impossible to forget memorable narrations that took me to the competition. Of course, always through that old radio receiver that was my most coveted possession and the envy of my friends.
There was something inexplicable that kept our paths intertwined. So much so that I decided to work in a radio station with the same people I admired as a child. And I succeeded. I fulfilled an old dream. I had as colleagues those who were my childhood idols and I was able to give order and sense to what I had so many times thought of in my mind: a radio booth.
The new technologies made it possible that radio was not an exclusive possibility of the big media. With knowledge of digital audio editing programs, some equipment (a microphone and little more) and many, many desires, great projects become reality. A clear example of this are podcasts. In them we learn about cooking, sports, health, entertainment, show business. In short, literally any possible topic.
With the idea of finding a space to express ourselves, socialize knowledge and, above all, learn is that this madness called DialogueMos arises. Yes, it has that name because we want communication to flow in more than just one direction. We want to get feedback from you; to listen to your opinions, your proposals; to make this your space of confluence where sports and journalism can dialogue without academicism, but with a lot of seriousness. And also because we will give voice to theory and lived experiences.
Here we will talk about physical activity and the power of the word; the good use of language and the tactical analysis of a soccer, baseball or basketball game; about aptitudes and attitudes (similar terms, but with a different meaning) to exercise a profession as attractive as journalism. The protagonists of those unforgettable stories or those who achieved the feat of breaking a record will have the floor. And you, the man or woman who reads and/or listens to me, will have the floor.
I propose you to DialogueMos with courage, with no breaks and with the truth as a banner. I invite you to be part of this ship that today sails through convulsive digital waters for the first time and hopes to always count on your listening and your opinion. It doesn't matter if you know about sports or not, or if you think journalism is boring. We still want to hear from you. Join us in this, our most precious and sweetest madness. From now on, DialogueMos is also your space. Come on in and connect.
